To mark the launch of the Accord 30 report, the Embassy team joined experts and colleagues from the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA) and Conciliation Resources to discuss adaptation and innovation in peace mediation.

Along with remarks from Swiss Ambassador to the UK Markus Leitner, the launch event – hosted in Westminster in the FCDO’s Locarno Suite – brought together practitioners and academics for a panel discussion on key questions raised in Accord 30, including how to engage resistant and elusive parties in peace mediation, and the role digital technology can play in peace processes.

Switzerland is an elected member of the UN Security Council in 2023-2024, continuing the country’s commitment to global peace and security.

Co-funded by the FDFA and FCDO, edited by Teresa Whitfield, and published by Conciliation Resources, the Accord 30 report features over 30 articles by mediators, policymakers, analysts and activists.
