December 2022

On 30th November, the Performance Engineering Mission 2022 introduced a delegation of six high-level Swiss companies to high-tech industry leaders in the UK automotive and motorsports industries.

This year, the delegation gained insights into the UK’s Motorsport Valley, including from Prodrive, Ricardo, the Warwick Manufacturing Group (WMG) and Tata Motors. A highlight was a tour of WMG’s Energy Innovation Centre and of Tata Motors’ site at the University of Warwick (shown above). The purpose of the mission was to help Swiss companies improve their business in vehicular performance engineering in the UK and Ireland. The delegation was then invited to the Ambassador’s evening dinner, bringing them together with industry leaders in motorsports technology.

Over the course of the next two days, the Embassy of Switzerland hosted the World Motorsport Symposium (WMS) 2022. Our Deputy Ambassador Chantal Moser introduced the two-day event, which included presentations and panel discussions about the motorsport industry’s present and future challenges. Crucially, the delegates departed having developed export relationships and strategies in the UK and Ireland to help innovate and improve the tech behind Swiss motorsports.
